Itinerary

Day 1: San Francisco
Arrive at San Francisco International Airport and proceed independently to your hotel.
Day 2: San Francisco
Discover the adventures this vibrant city has to offer. Cycle along the scenic waterfront on a rental bike (extra cost), taking in spectacular coastal views and crossing the world‑famous Golden Gate Bridge. Continue on to charming Sausalito before returning by ferry for an up‑close view of Alcatraz (extra cost). Later, explore some of San Francisco’s best‑known neighbourhoods and hidden culinary gems, including Union Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown and Little Italy.
Day 3: San Francisco
Enjoy a unique perspective of the city on a scenic hike shared with locals escaping the bustle of downtown. Discover some of the region’s best natural landscapes on trails such as Muir Woods, home to towering redwoods, The Presidio with its uninterrupted ocean views, or the Batteries to Bluffs Trail offering incredible vantage points of the Golden Gate Bridge. Capture postcard‑worthy photographs before preparing for your onward journey.
Day 4 - 5: San Francsico to Sonoma County
After picking up your rental car, journey north to Sonoma County, renowned for its exceptional wineries and outdoor lifestyle. Stop in Santa Rosa, a renowned hub for American cycling, or explore the natural beauty of Laguna de Santa Rosa and Trione‑Annadel State Park with opportunities to walk and hike. Wine lovers may wish to visit Kendall‑Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens or Matanzas Creek Winery for tastings or garden tours.
Day 6: Sonoma County
Explore more of Sonoma County’s scenic highlights on foot, with hiking trails in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, home to the largest observatory in the western United States. Stroll through the Sonoma State Historic Park and visit Mission San Francisco Solano (optional), or hike the Sonoma Overlook Trail in Montini Open Space Preserve for sweeping valley views. End the day at Sonoma Plaza, home to tasting rooms, boutiques, galleries and farm‑to‑table dining options.
Day 7: Sonoma County to Lake Tahoe
Continue to Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in North America, set within the stunning Sierra Nevada Mountains. Enjoy cycling opportunities suitable for all levels, from gentle paved lakeside paths to mountain trails for experienced riders (optional). The Forest Bicycle Trail leads to the beautiful beaches of Pope and Baldwin, with stops at the restored Baldwin Estate and Forest Service Visitor Center (extra cost).
Day 8: Lake Tahoe
Explore Lake Tahoe on foot with an impressive selection of hiking trails. Options include the family‑friendly Fallen Leaf Lake Trail, the Skyline Trail accessed by lift (not included) for adventurous hikers, or the scenic Rubicon Trail tracing the shoreline and offering outstanding photo opportunities. After an active day, relax at one of the area’s many locally owned restaurants.
Day 9: Lake Tahoe to Yosemite Mariposa County
Travel onward to Yosemite National Park, one of America’s most iconic natural destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Covering over 1,000 square miles, Yosemite is celebrated for its wildlife, waterfalls, giant sequoias and dramatic granite cliffs. Take a gentle walk along Yosemite Valley, following wide, well‑maintained paths that showcase the park’s remarkable landscapes.
Day 10: Yosemite Mariposa County
Make the most of your time in Yosemite with a rewarding hike along the historic Yosemite Falls Trail. As one of the park’s oldest trails, it leads toward the tallest waterfall in North America. Whether completing part or all of the trail, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome and Sentinel Rock. Be sure to carry water, snacks and your camera.
Day 11: Yosemite Mariposa County to San Francisco
Spend the morning absorbing the sounds and scents of Yosemite before beginning your return journey to San Francisco. En route, consider stopping to explore Oakland’s waterfront or detouring to San Jose and Silicon Valley before checking in to hotel.
Day 12: San Francisco
Transfer independently to San Francisco International Airport for your departure flight.
