Itinerary

Pick up your rental vehicle and head straight to the Hudson Valley. Treat yourself with a visit to the world’s premier culinary college, the Culinary Institute of America. Spend the next three nights in the Hudson Valley.

Begin your day with a stroll along the Walkway over the Hudson, the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. Visit the Roosevelt – Vanderbilt National Historic Sites and explore the Old Rhineback Aerodome.

This morning visit Madava Farms, a producer of fine maple syrup, then perhaps visit Innisfree Garden. This evening, dine in historic Rhinebeck and sample world-class wine along the Dutches County Wine Trail.

Drive east from the Hudson Valley to the Finger Lakes region, Syracuse. On arrival explore Armory Square, with its specialty restaurants, boutiques and entertainment venues. Spend the next three nights in Syracuse.

Enjoy the day shopping at Destiny USA, the sixth largest shopping centre in the country. This afternoon make your way to the nearby village of Skaneteles with its boutiques and art galleries.

Head to the Ska-nonh – Great Law of Peace Center – a native Indian heritage centre and spend the afternoon at the Erie Canal Museum. Be sure to dine at the original Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, an iconic local restaurant and bar.

Continue to Buffalo, the second largest city in New York State. Upon arrival, discover Canalside located on the shore of Lake Erie. You won’t want to miss one of Buffalo’s historic grain elevators transform into a spectacular light sculpture. Spend the next two nights in Buffalo.

Enjoy the day exploring Buffalo to see some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s residential, recreational and monumental designs. Then, maybe pick up Buffalo’s Brewcation Passport to help guide you through the city’s brewery landscape.

Take part in a self-guided walking tour of the city, then be sure to try Buffalo-style wings at Anchor Bar, home of the original chicken wing. Afterwards, be captivated by the sheer beauty of Niagara Falls. Cruise the churning waters on a Maid of the Mist boat ride (extra charge). The spectacular multi-coloured water and light display, every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings, is not to be missed!

Your road trip ends when you return your rental vehicle at Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
